After Market Scratches from Arlington Million over Turf Conditions

The morning line favorite to win the Arlington Million at odds of 2-to-1 was scratched from the race this morning because of less than firm track conditions.

After Market's trainer, John Shirreffs, says the weather in Chicago was so wet the previous week that the turf course hasn't completely dried out and that it's not quite fast enough.

He says the horse is in great shape but that the owner recommended that After Market not run on such soft ground.

After Market had won three straight races, including the Grade One Eddie Read Handicap last month. His pullout narrows the field to seven, including defending champion The Tin Man.
