Cubs Remain In First After Loss

The Phillies rapped out 16 hits in the win and stay four games behind the first-place Mets in the NL East.

Kyle Lohse, acquired in a Monday trade with Cincinnati, lasted only one inning in his Phillies debut. He was hit by a line drive off the bat of Jacque Jones and had to leave the game with a bruised forearm.

J.D. Durbin went to 4-and-2, pitching three innings after replacing Lohse.

Cubs starter Sean Marshall lasted just two and two-thirds innings and dropped to 5-and-5. Chicago remains one percentage point ahead of Milwaukee atop the NL Central.
