Women's Golf Classic Semi-Final Round

The Rockford Women's Golf Classic began the day with four golfers left in the championship flight. The match play semi-finals teed off this morning with top seeded Alexis Bennett squaring off with four seed Nicky Arn.

Bennett knocked out 13-time champion Sally Wessels yesterday in a tight match that went all the way down to the final putt on 18. Today she missed an opportunity right here as she lips out. It was a win she could have used. Nicky Arn upsets Bennett, winning on the 18th.

On the other side of the bracket Samantha Makovec is pin seeking from the second cut. Mackovec bounces over the hole. Great shot. She can put that putter away. That's a gimme in my book. Her opponent Brittany Atterbury sinks this putt but couldnt keep up. Makovec is too much she wins five and four.

So it'll be 7-time Freeport City Champ Nicky Arn against defending champion Samantha Makovec tomorrow in the championship. They tee off at 8:40 am.
