Man Pleads Guilty to Stealing Hall of Famer's Rings

James Graham of North Aurora pleaded guilty today to theft and unrelated charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and to a probation violation.

The 31-year-old was sentenced to 30 months of probation.

Authorities say Graham and an accomplice last year stole two rings from a display case at Walter Payton's Roundhouse Complex in downtown Aurora.

Payton received one ring on induction into the football Hall of Fame and the other was a replica of his Super Bowl championship ring. Both have been recovered.

The case against Graham's alleged accomplice -- 19-year-old Jeremy Sherman -- is still pending.
