Sox Survive Late Inning Indian Surge

Jerry Owens picked up his first three major league R-B-Is and Rob Mackowiak drove in three runs to help the White Sox take an 11-to-2 lead. A.J. Pierzynski, Jermaine Dye and Mackowiak each had two hits during the sixth-inning outburst.

Franklin Gutierrez hit a three-run homer in the sixth to spark the Indians' comeback. Victor Martinez smacked a two-run shot and later added a sacrifice fly in Cleveland's five-run eighth.

Rookie John Danks pitched into the sixth to even his mark at 6-and-6, allowing five runs and eight hits. Bobby Jenks pitched the ninth for his 25th save.

Cliff Lee was rocked for seven runs and nine hits in five and a-third. He's 5-and-6 with a five-point-67 E-R-A.
