Lefty Comes Close

Gregory Havret beat Phil Mickelson on the first hole of a playoff to capture the Scottish Open crown.

The Frenchman earned his second European PGA title, and first in more than five years.

Havret carded a 3-under-par 68 to get to 14 under after four trips around Loch Lomond. Third-round leader Mickelson could do no better than a 69.

Ernie Els tuned up for the upcoming British Open by firing a 65 and finishing a shot out of the playoff.
