Veteran free agent forward Joe Smith has agreed to a two-year deal with the Chicago Bulls and could sign Tuesday pending a physical.
The Bulls had a midlevel salary-cap exception of 5.3 million dollars. Smith, a 12-year, veteran, averaged eight-point-five points and six rebounds last season with Denver and Philadelphia.
The Bulls earlier agreed to a five-year deal worth nearly 38 million dollars to retain restricted free agent Andres Nocioni, who could also sign his deal next week.
Smith has played for six teams and has a career average of 12 points and seven rebounds. He would be a starter alongside Ben Wallace and Luol Deng (LOO'-ul dehng) next season.
