Kevin Harvick took the lead from teammate Jeff Burton with 27 laps to go, then held off Matt Kenseth to win the NASCAR Busch Series race at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet today.
It was the fourth victory at Chicagoland for Harvick, who won the first two Cup races held here in 2001 and 2002. He also won the track's Busch race in 2005.
Kyle Busch was leading when Aric Almirola spun out, bringing out a caution flag with 34 laps to go. That forced teams to make a strategy decision: hold their position or make a pit stop.
Busch dove into the pits, and the other leaders appeared to follow him. But Burton stayed on the track, giving him the lead at the restart with 30 to go.
Polesitter Denny Hamlin was running in the top five when his battery started going dead, forcing him to spend extra time in the pits. He finished seventh.
