Hamlin Takes Pole for Chicagoland Busch Race

Denny Hamlin ran a lap at 179.503 miles per hour this morning to take pole position for the NASCAR Busch Series race at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet.

Nine of the top ten qualifying spots for the afternoon's race were taken by Nextel Cup Series drivers who also are running in the Busch Series this weekend.

Nextel Cup regular and Busch Series points leader Carl Edwards will start second alongside Hamlin with a lap of 179.319 miles per hour.

The only non-Cup regular to qualify in the top ten, Aric Almirola, will start third, followed by Kasey Kahne and Dave Blaney.
