Tiger Sets Return to Golf

Print

The world's top golfer is hosting the event in suburban Washington, D.C. the first week in July. The tournament also got a boost when Phil Mickelson committed to play after a better than expected recovery from his wrist injury

Woods will officially make the announcement in the next few days a tournament official says, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Woods skipped the Buick Open this week after his wife Elin gave birth to daughter Sam Alexis on June 18th.

Mickelson's participation in the A-T-and-T National is something of a surprise after the wrist injury contributed to his missing the cut at the U.S. Open two weeks ago. He indicated on his website that ten days of rest and rehabilitation helped the injury improve enough to play.
