Clemens Goes Six in Season Debut

Clemens had his strong moments, striking out seven and holding the Pirates scoreless over his last two innings of work. The seven-time Cy Young Award winner also allowed three runs and five hits, including Jack Wilson's game-tying two-run double in the fourth.

Clemens threw 69 of his 108 pitches for strikes and left the game with a 6-to-3 lead. He was on a major league mound for the first time since signing a prorated one-year, 27 (m) million-dollar contract with the Yankees last month
