Former Chicago Bulls Player Porter Remembered At Funeral

Funeral services were held for Porter at St. Thomas of Villanova Church near Philadelphia. Porter was a star of the Villanova basketball team, leading them to the N-C-A-A championship game in 1971, where they lost to U-C-L-A.

Porter -- who was drafted 32nd overall by the Bulls in 1971 and also played for Detroit and New York -- was working as a probation officer in Minnesota. The 58-year-old was found beaten and barely alive in a Minneapolis alley on May 19. He died a week later.

In her eulogy, Theresa Porter thanked Villanova and her husband's teammates for their support.

A final service is scheduled for Saturday in Eatonville, Florida.
