Just less than two weeks after helping bring the UHL's Colonial Cup to Rockford. Former Head Coach Steve Martinson is ready to embark on his newest venture.
Today the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL signed the 12-year head coach to run the show next season. Martinson boasts an impressive career regular season record of 576-203-68 and has eight championship rings to his credit; six as a head coach and two as a player. This is Martinson's first coaching season in the ECHL and he becomes Elmira's seventh head coach in franchise history. Martinson was quoted on the Jackals website saying "He is very excited to be in Elmira and he is looking forward to moving back to the echl,"
