Not many high school teams get the chance to play for a state title. The Lutheran girls soccer team not only got their chance but took full advantage of it.
The state champion Lady Saders were honored at a pep rally at the school this morning. The players presented their principal with some new hardware for the trophy case. Lutheran finished the season with a record of 21-2-1. This is also the first state title for Lutheran in girls soccer. The 23 Sports Ticket caught up with senior Jade Moss on what its like to be a part of a championship team.
"MOSS: It's going to be nice to know that I can come back to this school and look in that trophy case and know that I have a team and I can share this with like 20 other people. It's going to be nice to look back on this experience and say, hey those were my good friends and we made history."
Impressive stat on Lutheran... they outscored their opponents 29-to-1 in this year's IHSA playoffs.
