Bears Look Forward to Draft

Angelo says he hasn't heard anything official from any team that might be interested in a trade for Briggs. The Bears' franchise player is guaranteed seven-point-two million dollars for next season.

Briggs wants to be traded or receive a long-term contract. The Redskins last month offered the Bears their sixth pick overall in the draft for Briggs and the Bears' 31st overall pick. The offer was rejected.

Angelo today said even though Briggs has threatened to hold out unless traded, his status doesn't necessarily impact the team's draft day decisions.

The Bears pick 31st in the draft. Running back, tight end, defensive tackle and defensive back are areas where Angelo says the team needs to improve.
