IceHogs Close Out Series With Mallards, 8-4

Besides one game this series, the IceHogs have owned the Mallards. But now its time to end this rivalry and send the Mallards home for the season. IceHogs fans definitely on edge tonight hoping to maybe see a goal or two.

Rockford gets going right away, Jason Noterman, finds the back of the twine, 1-0. Later in the second, Nicolas Corbeil sneaks it by the Mallards Jason Tapp for the goal.

Near end of the first, Hogs moving quickly, passing it around and it's Paul Brown with the goal. Jason Ralph credited with the assist, 3-0

Hogs aren't done yet. They get three more goals in the second. In the third, it's Preston Mizzi, lighting the lamp. That’s goal number 7. Hogs definitely tacking it on

Later Matt Gens, off balanced, gets it to go. Hogs score 8 goals on the night and they're moving on. 8-4 winners, here's what Preston Mizzi had to say about the scoring of late.

"MIZZI: Our cycle has been incredible. We kept them in their zone for 2 or 3 minutes at a time. At the end of that, they are either going to take a penalty or take a goal. Anytime you get guys moving their feet down low and moving the puck on the net, good things are going to happen."

Hogs close out the series with the Mallards 4 games to 1. Nicolas Corbeil had two of the Hogs 8 goals. The Hogs will play the Fort Wayne Komets in the second round
