DeKalb High School has announced a national letter of intent signing ceremony for senior basketball player, Jordan Threloff. The signing will take place at DeKalb High School, 1515 S. Fourth Street, DeKalb on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in the Commons of the high school.

Threloff, a 6’10” center, has received considerable attention from colleges in the last several years as his list of basketball accomplishments has grown along with his physical stature. Universities such as SMU, New Orleans, Western Michigan, Iowa, Indiana State, Drake, DePaul, Bradley, Northern Illinois, and others had all expressed interest in the high school standout. In the end, a campus visit to Illinois State was what it took to seal the deal for Threloff to verbally commit to Illinois State last month.

The opportunity to make an immediate impact in the Redbird basketball program, in addition to a very comfortable relationship with his future teammates and assistant coach Rob Judson, were key factors in helping Threloff make the announcement after attending Illinois State’s Hoopfest on October 16th.

Threloff averaged 22 points and 11.7 rebounds per game last year as a junior, on the way to numerous area honors.
