Beilein informed his players he was leaving in a meeting this afternoon and will be introduced at Michigan tomorrow.
The 54-year old Beilein guided the Mountaineers to the N-I-T championship last week and had the team in the N-C-A-A tournament the previous two seasons. West Virginia finished up 27-and-9 this season.
Beilein has built a reputation of turning downtrodden programs into winners during his career stops at LeMoyne, Canisius, Richmond and West Virginia. He's led his teams to eleven post-season trips in 29 seasons of coaching.
Beilein replaces Tommy Amaker, who was fired for failing to take Michigan to the N-C-A-A tournament in six seasons.
