Chicago beat the Atlanta Braves 3-to-2 with Buehrle allowing two runs and six hits in seven innings.
Buehrle was coming off a six-inning performance against Texas last Sunday where he gave up four runs and 12 hits in six innings.
Jose Contreras and Jon Garland are scheduled to pitch the first two games of the opening series in Chicago against Cleveland.
Buehrle is slated to start Thursday against the Indians.
