Tucker is the sixth Badger to win the award and first since Devin Harris won in 2004.
Tucker was also named the only unanimous first-team All-Big Ten selection by both the coaches and the media this year.
Tucker was the Big Ten's second-leading scorer at 19-point-7 points per game in conference play.
Coach Bo Ryan says Tucker's honor is the "icing on the cake for what has been an outstanding five years."
Tucker spent an extra year in school because of an injury that caused him to miss most of the 2003-2004 season.
He was the league's eighth-leading rebounder at 6-point-1 rebounds per game and shot 45 percent from the floor.
