KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- A pitcher from the Kansas City Royals and one from the Chicago White Sox have been chosen for the American League All-Star team.

The announcements Sunday included Royals righthander Zack Greinke, who drew more votes from players than any other pitcher in either league. Greinke is 10-4 and his ERA of 2.00 is the best in the majors. He was the only Royals player chosen.

White Sox lefthander Mark Buehrle also made the team. He's 8-2 with an ERA of 3.09.

The White Sox hoped that outfielder Jermaine Dye and pitchers Bobby Jenks and Matt Thornton would get consideration, but the trio was left out. Jenks has 19 saves and Dye hit his 20th home run on in Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Royals.
