Week 13 Recap
After dropping the first two games of a packed five-game week, Rockford rebounded with three straight wins, including back-to-back victories over the Chicago Wolves, to keep pace in the tight West Division. Overall, Rockford completed seven games in nine days with a record of 4-3-0-0. Three more games await the IceHogs as the mid-way point of the regular season approaches.

Bacon Bits:

-Winger Pascal Pelletier became the first IceHogs player in the AHL era to record two hat-tricks in one season when he notched three goals against Chicago on Saturday

-Bruce Watson was the last IceHogs skater to score two hat-tricks in one season when he did it in the UHL era on March 14 and March 30, 2007

-The IceHogs drew two sell outs during Week 13 at the MetroCentre including a season high 5,838 on Saturday against Chicago

-Rockford now has had five sell outs during its AHL era

-Winger Rob Klinkhammer has a three-game goal scoring streak netting four goals

-Rockford completed seven games in nine nights on Saturday, its busiest stretch in club history, with a record of 4-3-0-0

-The IceHogs have allowed a power-play goal in an AHL era low seven-straight games

-During that stretch, Rockford has allowed 13 power-play goals on 41 short handed situations, a 31.7 percent conversion rate by the opposition

-In their last 11 games Rockford has outscored its opponents 18-9 in the third period and have now scored 40 goals in the final frame, the most of any period

-Rockford’s regulation win in Chicago on Friday was the first in nine regular season games at the Allstate Arena for the IceHogs

-Center Evan Brophey matched his point total (8g-11a-19pts) from his rookie season (4g-15a-19pts) through 35 games in 2008-09 compared to 74 games in 2007-08

-Rockford completed a 23 game stretch against the West Division on Saturday with a record of 12-8-0-3

-The IceHogs haven’t played a game outside the division since Nov. 8 at Norfolk

-Rockford will play eight out of its next 13 games against North Division opponents beginning on Wednesday in Grand Rapids

Hot Hog Week 13:
In Rockford’s busiest week of the season, winger Rob Klinkhammer paced Rockford with six points and helped the club rebound from a tough home loss on Monday. Klinkhammer’s week was highlighted by two multi-point games, including two goals in Chicago and the game-winning marker with 56 seconds left in regulation on Friday. One night later, Klinkhammer helped Rockford seal a home win against the Wolves with an empty net goal.

Upcoming Games:
Wednesday, Jan. 7 at Grand Rapids Griffins. Game time is 6 p.m. Rockford finally ventures outside the West Division again when they travel to the Van Andle Arena in Grand Rapids for the first of four games against the Griffins in 2008-09. The game is the first of two in Michigan against the Detroit Red Wings top affiliate.

Friday, Jan. 9 vs. Chicago Wolves. The rivalry resumes is 7:30 p.m. Another meeting between the IceHogs and Wolves at the MetroCentre. The game is the fourth of five on the season in Rockford eighth of nine between the rivals. The first 2,000 fans to the game will pick up a set of 2008-09 Rockford IceHogs player cards courtesy of ComEd.

Saturday, Jan. 10 vs. Toronto Marlies. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. Rockford welcomes the Marlies to the MetroCentre for only time in 2008-09. The first 2,000 fans to the game on Saturday will receive an IceHogs baseball hat courtesy of Frito Lay, Pepsi, WXRX and WIFR.
