LANDOVER, Md. (AP) -- Plaxico Burress' lawyer tells The Associated Press that he has been advised the New York Giants' star receiver will be charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

Benjamin Brafman has written in an e-mail to the AP that Burress will turn himself in Monday morning. Brafman says Burress "will enter a plea of not guilty."

Burress accidentally shot himself in the right thigh Friday night in New York.

Burress already had been ruled out of the Super Bowl champion Giants' game Sunday at the Washington Redskins because of an unrelated leg injury.
