CHICAGO (AP) -- Longtime Chicago Cubs fan Eddie Vedder has released a song for the team at the request of Cubs great Ernie Banks titled "All the Way."

Vedder made the song available for 99 cents on his band Pearl Jam's Web site this week. According to the Web site, Vedder has released a live version of the song that he recorded at a concert in Chicago this August. Chicago radio stations and bars around Wrigley Field have been playing the track.

The lyrics to the song pay homage to a team and fans who haven't won a World Series for 100 years. The Cubs defeated the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday to clinch the NL Central title.
