Alfonso Soriano knocked a pair of home runs in Chicago's 7-4 win over Pittsburgh at Wrigley Field.

Soriano homered in his first two at bats supporting Sean Gallagher to his first major league win.

Geovany Soto and Mark DeRosa also went deep as the Cubs won for the seventh time in eight games.

Soto's homer capped a three-run first and Soriano launched a three-run shot in the second that made it 6-0 against Pirates starter Tom Gorzelanny. Gorzelanny allowed a career-high four homers and seven runs in six innings to fall to 3-and-4.

Jason Bay and Doug Mientkiewicz (mihn-KAY'-vihch) hit eight-inning homers for Pittsburgh.

Kerry Wood pitched a perfect ninth for his ninth save in 12 chances.
