LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Former Chicago Bulls star Dennis Rodman has been charged with domestic violence for allegedly hitting his girlfriend at a hotel last month.
A spokesman for prosecutors in Los Angeles says Rodman was charged Wednesday with spousal battery, brandishing a deadly weapon and dissuading a witness. The charges are misdemeanors.
The 46-year-old was arrested at a hotel April 30th after Gina Peterson called hotel security. Police say she suffered injuries to her arm.
A Rodman spokesman says Rodman had had too much to drink when he got into an altercation with Peterson. The spokesman says Rodman and Peterson are still dating.
Rodman was part of championship teams with both the Bulls and the Detroit Pistons.
