INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Scott Dixon will start the Indianapolis 500 from the pole position. He claimed the top spot with a four-lap average speed of 226.366 miles per hour. Rounding out the front row are Dan Wheldon, who toured the track at 226.110 miles per hour, and Ryan Briscoe.
The second row consists of Helio Castroneves, Danica Patrick and Tony Kanaan.
The first eleven positions have been determined with the next eleven being set on Sunday. The final eleven spots will be determined May 17th.
