The Rockford IceHogs and Chicago Blackhawks both have a shot at making the playoffs. The IceHogs are pretty much a lock for the AHL while the Hawks are hanging on to the final thread of postseason hope. But what's good for the Hawks isn't necesarily good for Rockford. If chicago fails to qualify for the NHL postseason, Chicago could send Dave Bolland, Dustin Byfuglien, and Jordan Hendry back to Rockford for a Calder Cup run. While they would certainly help the Hogs, Head Coach Mike Haviland says the Blackhawks' success is more important.
HAVILAND: "My job is to get guys there, and to make the Blackhawks a better organization and a better team. And to have those guys come back if they don't make it, absolutely it makes us a better team. However I certainly would like to see them run the board and see Vancouver and Nashville stumble a little bit for them to get in."
