If you're not interested in Freeport's turbine program how about a biotechnology program in Rockford?

The Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford just introduced its master's degree in medical biotechnology. In simple terms, it's the application of technology and science to create different products and services like finding cures for diseases, developing medical devices and researching equipment.

It's a two year program which requires a minimum of 34 credit hours and a thesis describing a student research project in the lab.
