Right now a 17 year old is behind bars in connection with a threat that forced Belvidere North to go on lockdown this morning.

Belvidere Police tell us Kenneth Fay of Belvidere allegedly threatened a student at north. As a safety precaution the school was locked down until the teen, who is not a student at the school was located. Once in custody the lockdown was lifted.

School Superintendent Michael Houselog says about 3,500 calls were made to parents about the situation through an electronic notification system in 15 minutes.
