Even though school doesn't start for another couple of weeks some local students are getting a head start on a national Pennies For Peace Campaign.

Lower school students gathered at Keith Country Day in Rockford to decorate pennies for peace containers. The jugs will be placed throughout the campus. Students want to help raise 50 thousand dollars to build a school in central Asia and tell us they didn't mind giving up one of their summer days.

The campaign started last year and has raised 15 thousand dollars.
