Jefferson High School in Rockford gets some funding from the state to go green this year. 28 Illinois schools were awarded money to improve their recycling programs.

Jefferson will now recycle all of its white paper plus one other product like glass, plastic, or aluminum.

The state's hoping this will help schools save money.
