On Saturday evening twenty-six Freeport students gathered in front of a limo party bus to take a picture before prom. Little did they know their ride to prom was going to be more than they bargained for. Everything started to go wrong after the bus driver showed up late. Junior Kaitlin Marcum recalled the night, "Our bus driver was like twenty minutes late and me and my brother asked for an extra twenty minutes cause we paid for it and he got really angry and at sixty miles an hour stopped the bus and my friend she slid down the aisle, banged up her knee pretty bad." Several students were injured in the incident and several girls tore their dresses, but the kids say reckless driving wasn't the only problem with the driver. Kaitlin's brother Kyle adds "He was very vulgar telling the girls to strip. He kept looking back whenever we'd get up or anything, tilt his glasses down, you know, to see if we were, you know, doing anything." At one point the bus driver allegedly started taking the kids down unfamiliar streets. At this point Kelly Williams called her parents on her cell phone. Her father recalls the night. "Dana answered the phone and I could tell immediately I could hear Kelly's voice, she was totally hysterical. So we put her on speaker phone and our immediate thought was there was a concern with the bus ride. You can't even begin to describe it it's so chilling." Jeff called the police and when the kids arrived Robert Irwin, the driver was arrested. When the students finally arrived at prom, they found they couldn't enjoy it because they kept getting called outside to give statements to the police. It cost the students seventy dollars each for their limo ride and they say they are trying to get their money back. Right now parents of the injured students say they are debating whether to take legal action. The bus driver however has been charged with several offenses... We were unable to reach the limo service, Amazing Transportation.. for comment.
