CHICAGO (AP) -- Gov. Pat Quinn says his State of the State address will include a proposal for tax relief for Illinois families.

The Democrat gives his speech Wednesday in Springfield. He says he'll focus on talking about jobs and economic growth. Quinn says those are the issues foremost on people's minds.

During an appearance in Chicago on Tuesday, Quinn declined to give details of any of his proposals until Wednesday.

A spokeswoman says Quinn is expected to lay out an agenda that'll include several proposals.

Quinn says the way out of Illinois' fiscal crisis isn't just about cutting the budget. He says the key is job creation, especially with small, young companies.

On Tuesday, he announced two Chicago area start-up companies that will benefit from the state's new venture capital fund.

I hope he also plans on telling us how they plan on paying the bills. They raised state income tax 2% and still are not paying bills. They are also talking about not paying the schools for the rest of this year. Also not many are aware of Quinn's comments last December about transporting students to school. I quote, "LET THE PARENTS FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET THEIR KIDS TO SCHOOL." So I guess he never had a job that prevented him taking his kids to school, and I'm betting it was a private school. His State of the State address will have as much hot air as the President's last week, nothing will happen it will be just a bunch of talk.
