UNDATED (AP) -- The European Union has banned oil imports from Iran, a move aimed at putting pressure on the regime to abandon its nuclear program. Iranians say they will close the strategic Strait of Hormuz in retaliation. More than a fifth of the world's oil passes through there. The U.S., Britain, and France are sending warships into the region.
