ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- As Rockford Police re-organize some Illinois Republicans are suing over how their legislative districts were re-drawn.

House Leader Tom Cross and senate leader Christine Rodogno want the courts to overturn Governor Quinn's approval on the democratically drawn maps.

They say the maps dilute Republican power and shortchanges Latinos and African Americans.

The maps drew Republican State Senator Dave Syverson out of his district as well as State Representative Dave Winters, who decided not to run for re-election.
