Don Manzullo announces today he is seeking a ninth term in Congress. In his eight previous wins he's always received at least 55 percent of the vote. In addition, since 2000 Manzullo has never amassed fewer than 60 percent. Manzullo is currently a member of the House Financial Services Committee. He's also the chairman of the Republican Policy Committee's Task Force on Manufacturing. He says that's the key to getting out of this economic instability.
"We can't buy ourselves out of this recession. We have to manufacture ourselves out of it. The only way to do that, people have to go back to work, we need to restart the supply chains in order to restart the economy," says Manzullo.
Manzullo will be challenged in the 2010 general election by Democrat and current Freeport Mayor George Gaulrapp.

Is there no Shame? I hope you (Don) discover the power of the vote! This is the same louse that beat up the CEO of Ford Motor Company, then gives a large sum of money to CamCar Aerospace, and now they are closing their doors. Where is the accountability of the peoples Tax Money? The parent company Acument got the money, and is now moving the Rockford jobs to California? Why not force the jobs in California to come to Rockford? I think that the fastener industry and Rockford deserves better performance of tax money.
AS A MAN I RESPECT & APPLAUD HIM FOR HIS SERVICE TO OUR AREA BUT FOR ALONG TIME I 'VE NOT VOTED FOR HIM BECAUSE OF HIS POLITICS. BE OF THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE ....NOT BIG MONEY
