Quinn Appoints 3 To State Latino Family Commission
CHICAGO (AP) -- Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn has appointed three people to the state's Latino Family Commission, which has never met since it was established in 2007.

Quinn's office announced the appointments Sunday. According to the governor's office, the commission was formed to advise the governor and the state General Assembly on issues and opportunities for Latino families.
The new members include Maria Esther Lopez, director of institutional advancement for the nonprofit group El Valor; Henry Martinez, director of the Mexican Community Committee; and Marisol Morales, associate director of DePaul University's Steans Center.
Martinez will be the commission's chairman.
