ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner made a campaign stop Tuesday at Ingersoll Machines Tools in Rockford.
The businessman turned politician went on a tour of the plant and says Illinois high schools need to train students for jobs in the manufacturing industry.
"One of the things Evelyn and I want to do after we win in November is bring vocational and technical training back into our public high schools. So our parents don't have to come out of pocket for extra community college and private education. So our young people are trained for the jobs that are available," Rauner said.
Rauner and Governor Pat Quinn face off in the November election.
