CHICAGO (AP) -- Gov. Pat Quinn wants to boost Illinois' business and tourism with Brazil, and he's thinking leading a six-day trip to that South American country could help accomplish that.

Quinn says his visit Brazil beginning Sunday marks the first time an Illinois governor has led a trade mission there.

The Democrat says Illinois' exports to Brazil last year totaled more than $2.5 billion, up 24 percent from the previous year.

On the tourism front, Quinn will address the Brazil travel industry to encourage Brazilians to visit Illinois. He notes that of 1.5 million Brazilians who last year visited the U.S., less than 4 percent actually traveled to Illinois.

Quinn says he'll lead a delegation that includes representatives of business, education, and state and local government.
