WASHINGTON (CBS NEWS) -- Mothers are calling on congress to reform the nation's chemical laws. Actress Jennifer Beals led the way Tuesday during a rally in Washington, D.C.
Protesters want new regulations to identify and restrict the most dangerous chemicals, in the hopes of preventing cancer and other diseases.
Chemicals are found in everyday household products - everything from cleaners to plastics to furniture. The nation's chemical safety policy has not been updated since 1976.
