ILLINOIS (WIFR) --Illinois is trying to make the roads safer by changing the way we use our cell phone while behind the wheel.
Starting January 1, 2014 drivers no longer will be able to talk on their cell phones by holding it up to their ear.
You'll need to pick up a Bluetooth earpiece or have a built in speaker phone system in your car.
If you break the law you will get a ticket.
We will take a look into the safety concerns Saturday on 23 News.
