ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Gubernatorial Candidate Bruce Rauner stopped in Rockford Thursday pushing his plan for economic growth.
Among other topics the Republican candidate says his business background will help fix our state's financial crisis.
"I am independent, I am a self made business man, I don't need to take donations from any special interest group or make money for my political power, I', running because I love this state and know I can turn it around," Rauner said.
Rauner says he would like to get rid of what he calls career politicians by limiting legislators to eight total years in office.
