ILLINOIS (WIFR) – One of Illinois’ gubernatorial hopefuls wants us to hire him next fall.
Republican Bruce Rauner held two town hall meetings in the Stateline today. It’s part of his “Bring Back Illinois” tour across Illinois. Rauner is a venture capitalist from the suburbs. This is his first time running for public office. He claims his experience in the business world will help get Illinois’ finances back on track.
“We’re going down the drain as a state, badly managed. And I don’t think the career politicians in Springfield can fix it. I know that I can turn it around and I’m on a mission to do that,” Rauner said.
Rauner will face treasurer Dan Rutherford and State Senators Bill Brady and Kirk Dillard in the GOP primary. So far, it’s just Bill Daley vs. Governor Quinn on the Democratic side.
