Illinois Students go to 'Conservation Congress'

CHICAGO (AP) -- Organizers say it'll be the first gathering of its kind.

About 100 high school students around Illinois are expected to participate. They'll discuss wildlife management, invasive species like Asian carp and community conservation.

Students will also be asked to come up with personal action plans for conservation.

The session convenes Sunday at the Brookfield Zoo in suburban Chicago.

It's hosted by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the Eden Place Nature Center, among other groups.
