One of the 17 finalists chosen to run along side Governor Pat Quinn during November's election is from our area.
Jasper St. Angel wants the Lieutenant governor job. He's a real estate agent and is currently serving his second term as Rockford Township trustee. His father, Frank, was a longtime public servant. St. Angel says if selected he will help Quinn win in Northern Illinois and in turn will work to better the region.
St. Angel is expected to find out Saturday if he's chosen to hold the number two spot. That's when the Democratic central committee meets in Springfield. We're told each of the 17 candidates will have a few minutes to explain why they want the job and what they hope to accomplish. A winner should be announced that day.
