(AP) -- Sen. Kirk Dillard is conceding defeat in the Republican primary for Illinois governor. that makes Sen. Bill Brady the party's official nominee.
In a news release Friday, Dillard said it was a close race but that Brady ended up the winner.
Dillard says he'll do whatever he can to help Brady defeat Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn in November.
Official results released Friday by the State Board of Elections show Brady winning the primary by 193 votes.
