White House Social Secretary Resigns

Our Chicago ties to the White House may be getting a little bit shorter as Social Secretary Desiree Rogers resigns.

Rogers is leaving office after being criticized for her handling of President Obama's first state dinner. A celebrity-seeking couple got into the event without a formal invitation, despite heavy White House Security. Rogers later acknowledged not having staff at security checkpoints. The President and First Lady released a statement today thanking their Chicago friend for quote " A terrific job". Rogers resignation will be will go into effect sometime next month.
