ROCKFORD , IL - Decorating Easter Cookies with his grand kids, Robert Zadek talks with his family about his concern for United States *dough. The Rockford native wants to run for U.S. Senate in 2010 and just launched a website to share some of his platform ideas.
"We see that there are a lot of things going on in Illinois that need to be fixed" said Zadek
Although he can't officially announce his candidacy until the summer,he's requested an Exploratory Committee to see if we'd be interested in having him represent Illinois in Washington.
"The leadership isn't there to help the state and the country" said Zadek
Zadek says his interest began long before U.S. Senator Roland Burris took office and the Rod Blagojevich scandal. He now wants to focus on the issues such as a complete overhaul of how the I-R-S operates by federally taxing everyone at the same rate.
" We need to tax everyone on our gross income and let it fall where it should..That way everyone pays the same percent but you pay more if you make more" said Zadek
He also wants to tackle immigration... and provide a better climate for businesses to remain in the United States
" They have to keep it here, lets create jobs for our own people with our own money, once we stabilize ourselves, then we an go out of the country to help other people." said Zadek
All ideas he hopes will be the key ingredients in feeding a hungry economy.
