An attorney for one of the men indicted alongside Rod Blagojevich says his client has no connection to the allegations against the former governor.
Attorney Dan Webb says Springfield lobbyist William F. Cellini has never had a substantive conversation with Blagojevich, much less conspired with him. Webb says Cellini will ask for a separate trial.
Cellini was already indicted last fall on charges that he plotted with convicted influence peddler Antoin "Tony" Rezko to shake down an investment firm for campaign contributions for Blagojevich. Cellini has denied any wrongdoing in that case.
Federal prosecutors named Cellini again Thursday in their indictment of Blagojevich.
